Privacy Policy

Updated:

This page says what personal data this website collects, why we collect it, who else sees it, and how to make us delete it. It is short on purpose: we collect very little.

Who we are

This website is operated by Fastvideo. If you have any question about this policy or about your data, write to info@fastcompression.com.

What we collect

When you send us the contact form

The form asks for your name, your company, your email address, and your message. Nothing is sent until you tick the consent box. We use this data for exactly one thing: to answer you. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell, rent, or trade it.

When you only read the site

We use Google Analytics to see which pages get read and where readers come from. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google your IP address, the pages you open, and basic information about your device. We look at this as totals — which page, how many readers, which country — not to identify you personally. We run no advertising networks and no ad trackers.

Server logs

Our hosting provider keeps standard server access logs. A log entry records technical details of the request: your IP address, the time, the page you asked for, and the user agent string your browser sends. We do not configure these logs, and we do not set how long they are kept — that is done by the hosting provider.

Cookies

The only cookies this site sets are Google Analytics cookies, with names starting with _ga. They count visits. You can block them in your browser settings or install Google's opt-out add-on. Nothing on this site breaks if you do.

Who else sees your data

How long we keep it

Messages from the contact form stay in our mailbox indefinitely, until you ask us to delete them. Google Analytics keeps event-level and user-level data for 2 months, which is the retention period set on our property. That setting does not cover the aggregated totals in Google's own standard reports — Google keeps those for as long as the property exists.

Your rights

You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to info@fastcompression.com and we will reply within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date under the heading changes with it. There is no archive of earlier versions — if you need to know what an earlier version said, ask us.

About the author

Fyodor Serzhenko, PhD, is the founder and CEO of Fastvideo. He earned his PhD at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) in 1993. Since 2009 he has led the development of Fastvideo’s GPU-accelerated image codecs and ISP modules, including the Fastvideo SDK. Connect on LinkedIn.

Why you can trust these results

Fastvideo has built GPU-accelerated image processing software since 2009. Our codecs comply with the standards they implement — JPEG (ITU-T T.81 / ISO IEC 10918) and JPEG2000 (ITU-T T.800 / ISO IEC 15444) — and our tools are open source on GitHub. Every performance figure we publish is reproducible: see our benchmark methodology, download the Fastvideo SDK benchmark report (PDF), and measure it on your own GPU.
