CUDA dewarping software on GPU

Image dewarping refers to the process of perspective correction, to reverse the effects of geometric distortions which caused by camera lens. Most commonly known as a “Fisheye” or “360 degrees” device. Dewarping allows the user to cover a wide viewing area with a single device, but also to have a "normal" view of an otherwise distorted or reversed image.

To ensure fast dewarping, we've utilized Fastvideo Image & Video Processing SDK to perform raw image processing and dewarping. The software does the following:

  • Transforms original set of images from RAW to RGB
  • Applies Remap function to get fast parallel and GPU-optimized algorithm dewarping

GPU Dewarping Software Features

  • 24/48-bit input image from HDD/SSD/RAID in PPM/BMP/JPG format
  • Output format: 24 bit PPM/BMP/JPG
  • Dewarping 360 for panomorph based panoramic image sensors (option)
  • Image processing for PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) fisheye cameras

Applications for fast dewarping

  • Fish eye imaging
  • Panomorph based panoramic imaging
  • Surveillance & security
  • Automotive
  • Endoscopy
  • Video conferencing
