Image dewarping refers to the process of perspective correction, to reverse the effects of geometric distortions which caused by camera lens. Most commonly known as a “Fisheye” or “360 degrees” device. Dewarping allows the user to cover a wide viewing area with a single device, but also to have a "normal" view of an otherwise distorted or reversed image.

To ensure fast dewarping, we've utilized Fastvideo Image & Video Processing SDK to perform raw processing and dewarping. The software can do the following:

  • Converts original set of images to 360 panorama
  • Fast parallel and GPU-optimized algorithm for equirectangular projection
